Epic Rockshop Aegerine Haul & Cleaning Process

In this video, we tackle the epic task of sorting through 125 kg of beautiful smoky quartz from Malawi. It’s been a rewarding process, and I’m super excited to share these stunning crystals with you!

Join me as we clean and prepare the crystals for sale. We start by boiling the smoky quartz in oxalic acid to remove any dirt and stains, letting them cool overnight. The next morning, we power wash them to reveal their true brilliance! You'll also spot some gorgeous Aegerine mixed with feldspar—such a stunning combination that really sparkles.

Once cleaned, I go through the process of sorting the crystals into different grades, pricing them, and getting them ready for sale. Some of the smaller crystals are priced at just R12 each, making them an incredible deal! There are some real gems in this batch, perfect for collectors or anyone who appreciates natural beauty.

The Ghosts of Prince Albert or the Fig Jam Smugglers?

Is Prince Albert any fun? Watch the video and see how colorful this sleepy town really is on a Saturday morning. We were just passing through on a big road trip. But we had to meassure the happiness level of this scenic town in the Karoo. We asked very serious questions but nobody took us serious. Questions such as the ghost arguing about sheep prices and the great apricot disaster of 1923. Church bells ringing after you ate your 3rd Koeksister and the like. But nobody took us serious.
